A bachelor's bed, that's what it is. It does not have any frilly design and the color is wenge which is a low maintenance color and it goes well with everything. In fact, it is not that hard to decorate the rest of the bedroom with this bedroom set. I definitely recommend this to anyone as it is perfect for anyone who is career oriented and does not have much time at home as it is does not need much to stand out.

I love the lines of the dresser and end tables, and wanted something dark with a lacquer finish. I am very pleased with the look (bought it only seeing it on the web).

The bed doesn't have the low contemporary look because of it's height (since it has drawers), but this was a tradeoff to get more space in my already large bedroom by having drawers under the bed and not needing a dresser in the master bedroom.

The overall quality is OK for the price. There were a few minor scratches(barely noticeable). The lacquer finish had a couple of bumps (drops) just inside the edge of one drawer which is also unlikely to be seen.

Assembling the bed is unnecessarily complicated due to poor instructions, and I had to drill out a few holes for two pieces because they just would not line up. None of the parts are marked, and the parts list does not indicate dimensions so you have to do some trial fitting. Once you get through the first few steps it becomes pretty straightforward.
