Purchased this buffet for use as an entertainment unit in the living room. It has a really sleek contemporary feel and looks great in our living room. I'm very particular and I was quite happy with the quality and construction. Well built, sturdy and attractive. The only flaw was that we were missing a couple of the shelf pegs. Not a big deal. Finish is dark, almost black, but not a dark brown like wenge. It's called "dark gray" - I would call it VERY dark charcoal. The unit is quite heavy, so make sure you have adequate assistance when the buffet is delivered. I'd suggest furniture straps to move it. You must attach the "feet" on the buffet with screws, but that is the only assembly required. Frankly, it doesn't look bad without them, if you prefer it without the feet. (The unit is 2 inches shorter without them.) As the buffet does NOT have holes cut for electronics/cords, we had to drill these on our own. It worked well and my husband and I are both enjoying the piece. It is a great value for the size and quality. It looks like a much more expensive piece. I recommend it.
