This expensive mailbox ships without a mounting plate unless you also buy the ridiculously expensive post. Oddly the instructions tell you how to use the mounting plate so clearly at one time it was provided. The plate is another $30 for a 12x16 piece of stainless with a few holes. Nowhere in the product pitch does it say this added expense is required. The street numbers are $25 a pop but I found almost the exact same size and font at my hardware store for. $6.50 each
